HOV Hotshots Under 14’s 2

Pontypool                             5

This was a game that the Hotshots could have done  much better in, if only there wasn’t so much individual play. With all the players looking for glory, it left the net minders with too much to do, without support.

Captain Thomas Heard and brother Joseph, the assistant captain, got a goal in each half, but with Pontypool defending deep and hitting on the break, there was little the Blaenau Gwent outfit could do.

HOV Hotshots Under 14’s 9

Bridgend Dynamos            1

This was a much better game, with all the players seeing the errors of the first game, and putting them right. Owen Price and Liz Baker shared goal keeping duties, and both performed excellently, with the defence of Peter Rodgers and David Robinson holding firm.

The Valleys sides first goal came from a neat passing move that saw Joseph Heard break down the wing and laying the ball off for Dan Symonds, who hit a scorcher past the Dynamo keeper.

Berwyn Roderick netted the 2nd, but the Dynamos were able to stage an attack of their own, which resulted in their only goal of the game.

Alex Trotman hit the 3rd, with the first half scoring coming to a close with 2 great strikes from Thomas Heard.

Alex Symonds started the 2nd period with a goal, with Heard netting the Hotshots 7th and securing a personal hattrick shortly afterwards.

Joe Heard hit the 8th off a Robert Jones assist, with Roderick netting the 9th from a Daniel Symonds pass.

Sarah Rodgers, Stewart Rickwood and Rachel Grovell, all playing up from the under 12’s, contributed to this emphatic win.
